
Ariana Patey
Ariana Patey studied Theology at Heythrop College, University of London where she earned her doctorate in 2012 with a dissertation entitled “The Life and Thought of Charles de Foucauld: A Christian Eremitical Vocation to Islam and His Contribution to the Understanding of Muslim-Christian Relations within Catholic Tradition.” Dr. Patey is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Departments of History and Religious Studies, Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2105 she published “Asserting Differences in Plurality: The Case of the Martyrs of Cordóba,” Studies in Church History 51. As a Mellon Research Fellow, Dr. Patey will investigate “Asceticism, instruction and mission in early Franciscan Communities.”
