Dr. David Wallace has been Judith Rodin Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Pennsylvania since 1996.  He is a past President of the Medieval Academy of America (2018-19), and of the New Chaucer Society (2004-6).  He was awarded the Sir Israel Gollancz Prize by the British Academy in 2019 for lifetime contributions to the study of Chaucer and Medieval Europe. For Oxford University Press he has edited Europe: A Literary History, 1348-1418, 2 vols (2016, 2021), and is currently editing National Epics (3 vols, with interactive website: nationalepics.com).
