Gabriele Passabì
Gabriele Passabì earned his doctorate in History at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Elisabeth Van Houts with a dissertation entitled “Chronographia and Imperium: Continuing the chronicle tradition of Eusebius-Jerome and Sigebert of Gembloux in twelfth-century Normandy.” Before joining PIMS, Dr Passabì was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Trierer Kolleg für Mittelalter und Frühe Neuzeit, University of Trier (Germany). His work on Robert of Torigni’s Chronica and other twelfth-century continuations of Sigebert of Gembloux’s world-chronicle has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings such as Revue Bénédictine, Tabularia, and Anglo-Norman Studies. At PIMS, Dr Passabì will expand his research on world chronicles (i.e. universal histories spanning from biblical creation to the author’s own time), focusing on chronicles written in twelfth-century England.
