Tristan Major
Dr Tristan Major earned his PhD from the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto (2010) with a dissertation on interpretations of the Tower of Babel in early English literature. He was then a Postdoctoral Researcher at the the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, before embarking to the Middle East as Assistant and then Associate Professor of Medieval Literature. Currently, he is Reference Manager at the PIMS Library. Dr Major has published widely in English and medieval Latin literature. His Monograph Undoing Babel was published in 2018 by the University of Toronto Press. Recently, he has published articles in JEGP and Filologia Mediolatina, and is in the final stages of completing an edition and translation of Frithegod’s Breuiloquium uitae beati Wilfridi, to be published with Oxford University Press. He is also Review Editor for The Journal of Medieval Latin. As a candidate for the LMS, Dr Major will be conducting a thesis on Anglo-Latin literature of the tenth and eleventh centuries.
