Almut Suerbaum is Associate Professor and Fellow & Tutor in German at Somerville College, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on medieval German writing, especially the interface between Latin and the vernacular and the role of women in literary production and reception. Together with colleagues from Antwerpen, Freiburg, Lecce, and Leiden, she collaborated in the EU-funded Marie Curie network ‘Mobility of Ideas and Transmission of Texts’. She has held visiting professorships at Freiburg and Tuebingen; most recently, she was elected to the Wolfgang Stammler Visiting Professorship 2017/18 at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.
