2017 Annual Meeting of the Medieval Academy of America

PIMS

The MAA’s 2017 Annual Meeting, to be held April 6–8, will be hosted by the University of Toronto (Centre for Medieval Studies) and the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies.

Toronto is a diverse and multicultural city, with a vibrant arts and music community. The meeting will take place downtown, on the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. Receptions will take place at the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Aga Khan Museum, with an optional excursion to the oldest European settlement in Ontario (1615), the Jesuit mission of Sainte-Marie-Among-the-Hurons, and the Shrine of the Canadian Martyrs in Midland, Ontario.

Rather than an overarching theme, the 2017 meeting, hosted by PIMS and by the Centre for Medieval Studies at U of T, will provide a variety of thematic connections among sessions. The Medieval Academy welcomes innovative sessions that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries or that use various disciplinary approaches to examine an individual topic.
