PIMS Library Opening Hours, 1 May onwards
PIMS
As of 1 May, the PIMS Library will be holding summer hours, opening from 10:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
PIMS Library Opening Hours, 26 March onwards
PIMS
As of Wednesday, 26 March, the PIMS Library will resume extended hours for the rest of the semester. The Library will be open Mondays and Fridays, 10:00am–5:00pm, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 10:00am–7:00pm. Summer hours are expected to begin 1 May.

Dr Talia Zajac, a continuing Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow under the direction of Fr T. Allan Smith, CSB, has just had a book chapter published in the Brill volume Christian Rus in the Making.

Stephen Metzger Awarded Premio Abelardo Lobato

The Pontifical Institute’s Associate Fellow Stephen Metzger, along with his co-organizer, Sister Panagia Miola, has recently been honored with the Premio Abelardo Lobato in recognition for their work on an exposition, “Il Libro e lo Spirito.”

An Award for a PIMS Volume

Congratulations to John S. Ott and Anna Trumbore Jones, whose book The Medieval Clergy, 800–1250: A Sourcebook, has been selected by the RUSA History Section Historical Materials Committee as one of the Best Historical Materials published in 2024.
PIMS Library Opening Hours, 19 March onwards

As of 19 March, the PIMS Library will no longer have extended hours in the evenings. Regular hours will be Monday to Friday, 10:00am–5:00pm.

Conference Videos
PIMS
In May 2024, the Institute hosted an international conference on the medieval Jewish thinker Moses Maimonides (1138–1204 C.E.) and the Christian thinker St Thomas Aquinas (ca. 1225–1274). The focus of the conference was on the areas of theology and philosophy where Aquinas directly and explicitly engaged the ideas of Maimonides. Video recordings of the presentations and roundtable discussions are now available on the conference webpage.

The PIMS Library will be back to normal operating hours and capacity as of 9 December.
PIMS Library Opening Hours, 25 November onwards
PIMS
The PIMS Library has reopened, but will continue to be on reduced hours and capacity from Monday 25 November onwards. An announcement will be made when normal operations are restored.
The 2025 Diploma Programme in Manuscript Studies
Courses
Applications are now open for the 2025 Manuscript Studies Programme, which will convene in Rome from 2 June to 4 July 2025.

As of Monday, 18 November, the PIMS Library will be open but operating with limited capacity and hours, due to the recent burst pipe emergency. Please note that the Library hours for this week will be Monday to Friday, 10:00am–5:00pm.
PIMS Library Emergency Closure
PIMS
A burst pipe has caused some leaking into the PIMS Library. The Library and USMC maintenance staff are currently working on the situation, but unfortunately the Library must close for the rest of the week. It may be able to reopen on Monday 18 November.

The PIMS Library will be holding a book sale on the 4th Floor of the Kelly Library. September 23–24 (10:00–5:00) will be reserved for students, faculty, staff and friends. The sale will continue September 25–27 for the general public.
PIMS Library Regular Hours

Starting today, 3 September, the PIMS Library has returned to regular hours: 10 AM to 5 PM on Monday and Friday, and 10 AM to 7 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
